What are the Service structures?

Automation suppliers supporting the European Classification offer their services based on the new structure and definitions. Seven Service Classes (0 to 6) have been defined. The European Classification starts with Class 0 for product-related basic services up to class 6 for plant-wide extended services. For easy recognition each class has been identified graphically. Each service module is assigned its appropriate class identification for instant recognition.

How does it work?

The supplier configures the service package to match exactly his components and automation solution portfolio. Therefore he will not always apply all classes and all individual services (modules) of each class. The service classes are independent of each other. An offer of Class 3 services, for example, does not necessarily include Class 2 services.

How to consider national requirements and customs?

The agreed European classification covers the number of classes, the class names and the class definitions. In order to consider local requirements and customs each country is free to develop its own logo and marketing strategy. Nevertheless, the national service classifications have to be in line with the European classification. This ensures international transparency for global suppliers and customers.

All national associations and their member companies interested in this services classification are invited to implement their national system using the structure as defined in this brochure. For service module samples, please refer to the national service websites as listet.
